Acrocyanosis
• Acrocyanosis: permanent cyanosis of the hands, legs or even the ears, nose. This phenomenon accelerates in cold and humid weather. It seems to be due to endocrine-sympathetic disorders, arteritis, nephritis, scleroderma,...
• Raynaud's disease: especially female. This is symmetrical gangrene of the extremities (nose, toes, ears, lips). This circulatory disorder presents a sensation of dead fingers. Also called “white finger disease”.
Cyanosis, with a greater or lesser loss of sensitivity, can lead to dry gangrene.
Exposure to cold or a variation in temperature triggers the vasoconstrictor reflexes which cause seizures.
