Alzheimer's Disease

Progressive deterioration of cognitive functions and especially memory, associated with lesions of the hippocampus and associative cortical areas (frontal, temporal, parietal).

Degenerative dementia with brain atrophy, occurring between 50 and 70 years of age. The development is progressive and affects thinking, mood, motor skills.

Manifested by memory disorders, spatial disorientation... agnosia (loss of comprehension function) and aphasia (loss of speech function) and even epileptic seizures.

Magnesium deficiency promotes neural death. Brain damage is believed to be caused by aluminum poisoning.

For some scientists, Alzheimer's disease is similar to type III diabetes (significant reduction in the quantity of insulin produced in a particular brain area called the hippocampus). This area is precisely responsible for memory.

Anosmia (loss of smells) is one of the common first signs of Alzheimer's disease.
