Atypical Pneumonia
Born in China in 2002, this infectious disease is caused by a coronavirus belonging to a family of pathogens until now mainly known to veterinary services (cattle, poultry, pigs, mice, etc.). It may be an animal strain that has mutated (?).
- <strong>Clinical signs</strong>: fever, chills, aches, muscle pain. Between the 2nd and 12th day a dry cough begins associated with shortness of breath accompanied by breathing difficulties
- <strong>Contamination</strong>: by birds, livestock, breeders and veterinary staff, sewage, etc. SARS can be transmitted through spit and body fluids. However, it is very fragile and only remains alive for a few hours in the open air.
- <strong>People at risk</strong>: immunocompromised people, children, elderly
