Constipation

Constipation: delay in passing stools. We can speak of constipation as soon as there is an effort to carry out defecation. - Can be spasmodic, atonic, sigmoid.

Signs: heavy tongue, fetid breath, slowed digestion, spots on the face, migraines, cold extremities.

Causes: water and vitamin B deficiencies, excess meat, sedentary lifestyle, nervous exhaustion, lack of fiber, abuse of laxatives, lack of gastric secretions, use of medications (tranquilizers, sleeping pills, antidepressants, codeine, antacid)

N.B. : no constipation can be permanently relieved without correcting diet and lifestyle habits.
