Infant Diaper Rash

More or less intense redness of the integuments, localized in the genito-rectal area. The redness disappears upon pressure and returns as soon as the pressure ceases. Toxic overload resulting from an inadequate or poorly metabolized diet.

Diaper rash also called “diaper dermatitis” is mainly found between 6 and 12 months of age.

Candidiasis or psoriasis can be the cause.

The nurse must avoid acidifying and irritating foods in order to provide the baby with adequate non-inflammatory milk

Avoid dairy products, citrus fruits, acidic fruits, refined sugars, fats, tomato juice and all acidifying foods (cream of wheat or corn, spinach puree, etc.)

Breast milk applied as a lotion to the infant's red buttocks

Lycopodium powder, applied locally - Ointment with Calendula or Aloe vera

gel Localized powder with: fine clay - corn starch - natural talc with Calendula - arrowroot starch

Compress with oak bark or with comfrey - Quinton marine plasma (Biocean) in spray

Sweet almond oil, sesame oil, St. John's wort

7 plant cream (Bioforce)

Avoid cellulose diapers, rubber pants, scented soaps…

E.O. of Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) mixed with wheat germ oil for local relief application
