Intercostal Neuralgia
Pain in the rib area - Pain “in a sling”, at the level of the thorax, on each side of the spine, on each side of the sternum and even under the arms.
The pain can be amplified by movements of the spine, by incorrect postures, by breathing or by coughing.
This neuralgia comes from irritation at a specific point of the sensory nerves running along each of the ribs. It is sometimes associated with rheumatism or arthritis. In other cases, it is found linked to heart or respiratory problems.
The acid-base imbalance that is generally present must be corrected.
