Leukemia
Malignant disease characterized by the proliferation of leukocyte-forming centers. Presence of abnormal cells revealing an alteration of the hematopoietic organs (bone marrow, spleen, lymph nodes).
Leukemias are classified according to the type of white blood cells affected and according to the progressive nature of the disease:
• Lymphoid leukemia (malignant proliferation of lymphocytes, enlargement of the spleen, lymph nodes)
• Myeloid leukemia (fatigue, feeling of heaviness in the left side, swelling of the spleen). The number of white blood cells is excessive.
The main symptoms: anemia, internal bleeding, infections, bone pain.
