Leukopenia

Pathological drop in leukocytes or white blood cells in the blood. We consider that there is leukopenia (or leukocytosis) when the number of leukocytes is less than 4000 / mm³ of blood, normal values oscillating between 4000 and 10,000 / mm³.

It is mainly due to viral, bacterial or parasitic infections, to pathologies of the bone marrow, to certain cancers. (leukemia) among others or even particularly violent and psychologically aggressive stress.
