Infection also called borreliosis, caused by a spirochete called Borrelia. More or less diffuse skin redness, fatigue, headaches, fever. These manifestations are followed by neurological signs, such as meningitis, fibromyalgia, memory problems or heart rhythm problems, depressive states.
The next phase of pain can appear several weeks to a few years later.
The tick, Ixodes dammini, biting the skin in search of blood can transmit the bacteria and cause Lyme disease (Old Lyme, Connecticut). The tick looks like a large black peppercorn and attaches to mammals (including humans) to suck blood. Other ticks are the cause of the transmission of the disease: Ixodes ricinus, Ixodes pacificus, Ixodes scapularis...
