Malabsorption Syndrome

Intestinal villous atrophy induces malabsorption directly linked to a reduction in the functional surface area of the small intestine.

Major signs: chronic diarrhea, steatorrhea (overabundance of fatty matter excreted with the stools which are often light-colored, floating in the toilet bowl), abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or sometimes constipation, are signs of authentic malabsorption with weight loss, asthenia and anemias of all kinds.
