Nausea
“Heartache”, retching, disgust... are also terms which translate the feeling of wanting to vomit. It results from stimulation of the vomiting center, located in the medulla oblongata.
Nausea can herald other pathologies: appendicitis, viral hepatitis, strangulated hernia, intestinal obstruction, gastric ulcer.
Predisposing causes must be treated: asthma, bronchitis, constipation, flatulence, gastritis, hyper or hypochlorhydria, food abuse (beer, coffee, ice cream, gastric embarrassment), tobacco…
Vagal discomfort also called pneumogastric discomfort (discomfort associated with hyperstimulation of the vagus nerve) is often associated with nausea. What to do? Simply raise your legs for 10 minutes to facilitate the return of blood to the head.
