Otitis - Ear pain

Otitis: acute or chronic inflammation of the ear

  • otitis media: eardrum chamber
  • otitis interna: inner ear
  • otitis externa: external ear canal

Otalgia: pain located in the ear

Otitis ear: frequently it is otitis media (at the level of the eardrum)

Otalgia without otitis: lesion in the vicinity of the ear

Otalgia of auricular shingles: pain in the back of the ear canal or in the concha

Otorrhea: discharge of pus from the ear

Otosclerosis : sclerosis of the ear which follows suppurative otitis, catarrhal otitis.

Labyrinthitis : internal otitis particularly affecting the labyrinth
