Renal Colic

Painful attack due to sudden blockage of the urinary tract. Radiating pain in the lumbar and genital area. The most common cause is lithiasis.

Passage of a stone from the kidney to the bladder, through the ureters.

Uric acid stone: alkalinize the urine.

Calcium stone (calcium phosphate, calcium oxalate): acidify the urine.

Stone cystinic (cystine present in urine, hereditary metabolic cause): alkalinize urine.
