Spasmophilia - Tetany

Spasmophilia: Disorder in the regulation of the neuro-vegetative system. Neuromuscular hyperexcitability during which tetany attacks appear. “Chameleon” disease. It is a pathological condition which can take various forms: depression, weakness, irritability, lump in the throat, dizziness, muscle contraction, cramp, pseudo loss of consciousness, crying crisis, cyclical edema, intestinal fatigue, numbness, intercostal neuralgia... The spasmophile often presents with a dry nose, with crusts, clammy skin, rapid heartbeat, pale complexion.

Tetany: continuation of muscle contractions. The tetany attack begins with tingling, occurs in hypocalcemia with a drop in ionized blood calcium, during vomiting or certain infectious diseases.

In both cases, a deficiency in calcium and magnesium is generally involved.

These syndromes are linked to metabolic, energetic, psychological, sociological factors... strongly intertwined, we also speak of “Unfinished mourning”.
