Nails (Health of…)
Nails, like hair, are made up of 90% keratin, a protein which contains 18 amino acids. Among these, cystine, a sulfur-containing amino acid, is the most important qualitatively and quantitatively.
Very hard, the nails contain a little water (around 18%). Below 16%, they become brittle, above 30%, they become soft.
Like hair, nails are a reflection of the general health of the body. Their beauty or their disgrace depends on the mistreatment or attacks they undergo, but also on the balance of our diet.
Hard, thick, solid nails, pink in color, without spots, hollows or rolls reflect good general vitality.
