Stress

Stress is the interaction between a force and the body's resistance to this force. It was defined by Dr. Hans Selye, Canadian physiologist and endocrinologist in 1937.

He called all the biological and psychological disturbances caused by any attack on the body: "general adaptation syndrome" (GAS), which manifests itself by: accelerated respiratory rate, decreased gastric or pancreatic secretions, secretion of adrenaline and norepinephrine, dilation of muscular blood vessels, dilation of the pupil, acidity of the saliva, thyroid hyperactivity, increased heart rate and blood pressure, increased blood sugar level, decreased electrical resistance of the skin, sweating, etc...

Stress includes 3 phases: phases of alarm, resistance, exhaustion. Chronic stress leads to real illnesses.

Stress leads to a magnesium deficiency and magnesium deficiency increases sensitivity to stress.

It is important to note that we are not equal when it comes to stress.
